Based in Grand Rapids, MI, Katie (Kae) Pershon is a photographer, artist, and curator whose fascination with the abstract and sublime is apparent throughout her work. While Kae has explored various mediums, her passion for digital media remains consistent. She is particularly interested in capturing the beauty that emerges when mundane objects are brought together in unexpected ways.

In addition to her aesthetic explorations, much of Kae’s work is informed by her personal experiences navigating a world that is not always built for individuals with ADHD and ASD. As someone who identifies as neurodivergent, Kae's work often explores themes of identity, intersectionality, and the challenges faced by those who experience the world differently.

Kae’s practice is characterized by experimentation and a willingness to take risks, which is reflected in the immediacy of her digital photography. She seeks to create work that is broadly accessible on the surface, while also offering a unique perspective that can educate viewers about the experiences of those who are neurodivergent.

Kae’s work has been exhibited widely across the Great Lakes region, including at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, the Grand Valley State University Art Gallery, and the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute. Her ongoing series, titled (less), is a photography exhibit that seeks to represent ADHD symptoms through a variety of photographic styles. The series includes three collections thus far: time(less), which addresses time blindness, cease(less), which explores emotional dysregulation, and mind(less), which delves into the ephemeral nature of memory and ADHD.
